Going global used to be a resourcing problem, but now it’s a quality problem. Artificial intelligence (AI) has made it faster and more accessible than ever to translate content into dozens of languages — but speed and accessibility doesn’t guarantee quality. Brand voice can get flattened in the process, terminology drifts, and a product description that reads naturally in English can land awkwardly in German or, worse, incorrectly in Japanese. For teams trying to build trust in new markets, that gap between “translated” and “translated well” is exactly where global growth stalls.

That tension is why G2 recognition is important to companies looking to invest in localization. G2’s quarterly reports are built from verified reviews by people who leverage the platform every day to run real projects for their organizations. In Summer 2026, Smartling earned 41 G2 badges, up from 37 in the Spring. The satisfaction scores behind those badges reflect that teams are not just using the platform to streamline localization efforts, but also recommending it to their peers.

This quarter’s results also brought something new: recognition specifically for implementation. Smartling moved to #1 on G2’s Implementation Index for Translation Management (TM) and picked up new “Easiest Setup” and “Most Implementable” badges — categories that measure how quickly teams get up and running so they can realize value right away.

These recognitions also fit with where Smartling has been heading, particularly with its largest AI innovation release to date — including LQA Agent, which uses the industry-standard Multidimensional Quality Metrics (MQM) framework to automatically evaluate translation quality within the platform. New features like Style Rules for AI and Auto Select LLM are designed to preserve brand voice and adapt to context. These updates are built on the same commitment that’s been showing up in G2 reviews for 15 consecutive quarters at #1: that faster translation doesn’t have to sacrifice quality.

How G2 actually calculates these scores

G2 reaches over 100 million software buyers annually and is considered among the most trusted peer review marketplaces in the industry. The quarterly Grid® reports score products based on 1) customer satisfaction (drawn from verified reviews); and 2) market presence (based on scale and momentum).

The Implementation Index is scored specifically on time-to-value, ease of setup, and user satisfaction with onboarding. Showing up at #1 there requires consistent praise on all three — highlighting the experience customers have before the platform is even fully deployed.
